Words: bye bye, dad, mama, light, "ahhh" for coffee (verbal); milk, more, all done, please, sometimes thank you (signs)
Cute note: James did the sign for "please" for the first time on the airplane on the way home from Arkansas. He thoroughly enjoyed pulling the window shade down, but could not push it back up (so as to pull it down again), so I told him to say "up please," then I would push it up. After pulling it down, he turned and rubbed my chest ha! Whenever I said "please" after that, he turned and rubbed my chest. Hopefully he will learn to say "please" himself!
He (often) blows kisses and actually smacks his lips to make a kiss sound and (rarely) gives hugs. He loves to get my attention and then do something silly to make me laugh.
He still has 7 teeth and sucks his thumb ambidextrously.
Separation anxiety has increased a lot this month, and we especially noticed it while we were in Arkansas. I think him being tired and vastly off his routine exacerbated it. But then, I dropped him off at the church nursery this morning and he didn't bat an eye when I walked away! I suppose he is just selective.
He pulls up and is starting to cruise a little. He climbs stairs, though not very quickly or excitedly. He climbed almost to the top at Nana and Pop's. We will be investing in some more baby gates soon.
He is in size 2 shoes (though he does not often wear shoes) and is in 9-12 month clothes mostly, but still a few 6-9 month, and I've started putting some 12-18 month on him, but they are large!
We received the results from the allergy test they drew at his 1 year appointment. Positive for egg yolk, egg white, peanuts and dogs. Sad day. :(
He naps twice during the day (9am and 1pm) for an hour and a half each, and sleeps 11 hours at night (typically 7:30pm-6:30am). He is quite unhappy if his sleep gets messed up (just like his dad and mama, the boy loves his sleep).
He is 100% on whole organic cow's milk (and off formula, praise God), which he prefers to drink from a straw cup. He drinks water from a regular sippy cup, though prefers to drink from a normal adult glass. Otherwise, meals are pretty much the same. He has decided that he loves cheese, which is great as another source of protein and calcium. And he has tried a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast and liked that, too! He's been less picky lately, but it's probably just a fluke, so I'm not getting excited about that just yet.
He's just the best little boy ever!
Am so glad you are a blogger, Mandy - loved the trip down memory lane this afternoon. What super pics! Nana
