James has an antique circus-themed mobile in his room that he loves to point at. We call it his circus friends and sing a circus song whenever he points at it. It only seemed natural to carry this theme over into a party for the boy! We had popcorn, animal crackers, caramel apples and homemade funfetti cake. We were hoping to have a small gathering for the celebration, but things start to feel crowded pretty quickly in our sweet little home. We had a wonderful group attend, including local family, family who traveled in from out of town and out of state, some of Stuart's co-residents and a handful of dear friends. I think James felt celebrated (and completely worn out) after his party. Stuart and I are so thankful for all of the love, support and help we have had from our community in raising James this past year. It truly does take a village!
