One year check-up

James was a total rock star at his doctor's appointment this week.  He totally impressed Dr. Z by saying "lightlightlightlight" while pointing at all the fluorescents in the ceiling, and then waving hello to her.  

The big boy weighs in at 19lbs 6oz (alas, not quite triple his birth weight).  And he's 28.5 inches long. Around 10-15th percentile for both weight and length. No surprise there.

The big excitement came when he was due for a handful of vaccines and we sent some blood off to run an allergy panel. After 3 shots and a blood draw (that's 4 big needle sticks, folks!), he was only a little bit sad.  He was so brave, and I told him so. Then I gave him some chocolate mousse for lunch at Whole Foods, so as to perpetuate such courage in the future.

We go back at 15 months!
